ANZAC Tour FAQs

1. When and where will I meet the Trip Leader and the rest of the group?

Once you have to booked your flights to Istanbul please let your Travel Agent or our Reservations Agent know so that we can advise our ground operator in Istanbul. On arrival you will be met by a Topdeck representative who will assist you in finding a taxi to your hotel. You will meet your Topdeck Trip Leader and the rest of your travelling companions from your ANZAC Tour at a pre-trip briefing at your hotel that evening.

2. Will I need a visa for Turkey?

Australians require a visa to enter Turkey but this can be purchased at the port of entry on arrival in Turkey. New Zealanders do not require a visa. If you are holding any other sort of passport please check with the Turkish Embassy.

3. What will I need to bring with me?

Warm clothes and a sleeping bag for sleeping out at ANZAC Cove are essential as it gets very cold at night.

4. Where do we sleep at Gallipoli?

We try to get to the location of the ANZAC service early to get the best spot on the grass for the night. It adds to the authenticity of the experience.

5. Do I need Travel Insurance?

Yes. Travel insurance is compulsory on all our trips. Topdeck or your Travel Agent can arrange a policy for you at the time of booking. Your insurance policy must cover you for cancellation, liability, curtailment, loss of money, loss or damage to baggage or personal belongings and medical insurance including repatriation costs. You MUST bring your policy with you on trip. If you do not have one at the start of the trip you will be required to purchase a policy from Topdeck.
